Will Shepler was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on November 1, 2002. After more than three years of chemotherapy the cancer was in remission. Will began kindergarten in the fall and was enjoying life as a "normal" child, but during Will's Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World in November 2006, Rich and Melanie saw signs that cancer had returned Upon the family's return home, tests confirmed cancer was back. Will began heavy chemotherapy just before Thanksgiving 2006. He completed his most recent treatment in March 2009.
God, family, friends, their community, and the wonderful people at Riley Hospital have helped the Shepler family deal with the emotional, physical, and mental drain this has put on their family.
Will completed his most recent treatment in March 2009. On March 21,
2009 he was able to participate in his first Will Power by running
along with his friends! It was a great day!
